Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). According to presidential spokesman Ahmed Hafez, Georgieva confirmed the IMF's commitment to continuing to strengthen consultation and coordination frameworks with Egypt to highlight their constructive partnership, taking into account the cooperation program between the two sides. She praised the government's intensive efforts in this regard and what has been achieved in terms of economic and structural targets within the framework of the economic reform program. She also noted the resilience of the Egyptian economy in the face of the negative consequences of successive global crises.
For his part, the President expressed his keenness to continue consulting with the Managing Director of the IMF, based on Egypt's interest in pushing cooperation forward between Egypt and the IMF, especially in light of Egypt's strategic approach to achieving sustainable development in all its economic and social dimensions. This approach includes attracting more investments and encouraging the private sector, in addition to the partnership with the IMF in providing a positive environment for all investors and global financial markets regarding the performance of the Egyptian economy.
