EGX30 Breaks All-Time High, Market Cap Surges

The EGX30 index has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing its previous all-time high of 18,414 points, which was recorded in April 2018. The index soared to end the session at 18,516 points on August 27, 2023, representing an impressive gain of 300 points.



Moreover, the market capitalization for the EGX30 index reached a remarkable EGP 856 billion by the end of the session. The following diagram illustrates the market cap distribution among the index stocks. Notably, Commercial International Bank (COMI) remains a dominant force in market cap, despite not being the best performer among the index stocks. COMI's shares contribute significantly to the overall market cap. MFPC and ABUK follow closely, holding the second and third positions in market cap rankings, with a total of EGP 63.9 billion and 55 billion, respectively.






In terms of stock performance, SKPC and ESRS have delivered outstanding year-to-date returns, surpassing 100%. Both stocks have reached new 52-week high prices.
